Mané Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Austin in the 35th minute of the match. A hard shot 37 in the game by Chico de Brito from a close distance when the talented Máté Márton managed to make a qualified save. Congo Bongo's players were relieved. Máté Márton made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Chico de Brito sent off a good shot on target. Mané Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Sancho in the 40th minute of play. After 43 played minutes Congo Bongo got a freekick which was hit by Damaso Sancho. Mané Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Froilan Iaki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mané Viana came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Congo Bongo's Damaso Sancho. But to his dismay, Damaso Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's Dadá Hoffmann got a free kick in the 56th minute. Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Congo Bongo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Carlinhos de Brito took the corner. 60 minutes into the match, Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's goal looked a bit too open when Ingvar Andersson came free, but Mané Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Congo Bongo's Mané Viana threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Froilan Iaki, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jano Donato in the 90th minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Máté Márton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Máté Márton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jano Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's goalkeeper Mané Viana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Damaso Sancho. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Augusto Lopes during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Congo Bongo booed when Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Augusto Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Congo Bongo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
