Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aaron Barrios's late challenge caught a A A Arizona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Barrios helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Aaron Barrios hit a great ball. Hu Zhen Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 20th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Bastos in the 52nd minute of the match.
