Vilmar Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. After 19 minutes of play, The Potters's Vilmar Murillo made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Vilmar Murillo sent off a good shot on target. The Potters were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paulo Piretti took the corner. The Potters's Paulo Piretti was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. When Luca Langoni came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the The Potters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luca Langoni couldn't finish the play. In the 29th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Vilmar Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 33rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wladimir Vinthen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wladimir Vinthen having to interfere. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The Potters's Wladimir Vinthen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Vilmar Murillo made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Paulo Piretti shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vilmar Murillo in the 55th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vilmar Murillo in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wladimir Vinthen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. The Potters's Erdiano Peñuñuri was substituted for Tommy Rueløkke. When Paulo Piretti fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Potters's protests and gave Paulo Piretti a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes The Potters got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Piretti. In the 65th minute, Tomas Illescas fired a really elegant long shot, but Wladimir Vinthen threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Vilmar Murillo struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Potters. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vilmar Murillo in the 73rd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franck Parfelt in the 79th minute of play. The Potters's Wladimir Vinthen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save The Potters from getting a goal against them. Vilmar Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
