Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Armando Ceresoli started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Alvaro Pardini came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Pardini having to interfere. Alvaro Pardini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montes in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the match, Foot Ball Club di Roma's Biagio Di Marco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play forced Foot Ball Club di Roma's goalkeeper Alvaro Pardini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Foot Ball Club di Roma's Biagio Scoca in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Primitivo Andino made in the 24th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Agustín Saelices. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 36th minute of play forced Foot Ball Club di Roma's goalkeeper Alvaro Pardini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. When Biagio Scoca came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Foot Ball Club di Roma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Biagio Scoca couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Foot Ball Club di Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ettore Scarcella didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Biagio Scoca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Foot Ball Club di Roma's supporters rose to their feet, but Biagio Scoca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Biagio Scoca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Foot Ball Club di Roma's goalkeeper Alvaro Pardini, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 76 played minutes Foot Ball Club di Roma got a freekick which was hit by Ettore Scarcella. Alvaro Pardini made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. Biagio Scoca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Biagio Scoca in the 79th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Alvaro Pardini however easily saved by the left post. Niccolo Zaniolo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aldo Pesce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Pardini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Biagio Scoca in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute of the match Foot Ball Club di Roma got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Biagio Di Marco ran over to the corner to take the kick. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Foot Ball Club di Roma were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
