Maggi Gonzáles did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant 2 minutes into the match. In the 5th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the game, You Ang Zhou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barça Salvadoreño FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After a rather tough play, Barça Salvadoreño FC's You Ang Zhou got a free kick in the 6th minute. After 10 played minutes Barça Salvadoreño FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Calderon. Paradorn Todor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Paradorn Todor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. You Ang Zhou got his second yellow card in the match during the 14th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 15 played minutes Barça Salvadoreño FC got a freekick which was hit by You Ang Zhou. Coenraad Peters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 29 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paradorn Todor. Barça Salvadoreño FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 38th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paradorn Todor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Maggi Gonzáles sent off a good shot on target. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. At last the ball reached Joshua Secada at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Barça Salvadoreño FC. 1-3. Alexander Navas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. A hard shot 89 in the game by Tomas Illescas from a close distance when the talented Paradorn Todor managed to make a qualified save. Barça Salvadoreño FC's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Costa during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Venezuela eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
