After 15 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Rubio. A throw-in in the 18th minute of the game was made by Luis Rubio with Mateo Leguizamo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 19 played minutes Tiburones got a freekick which was hit by Luis Honrio. After a defensive mix-up in Tiburones's zone, Moises Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorino Olayo came out of the goal and Moises Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moises Fernandino charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Moises Fernandino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amado Domenec in the 24th minute of play. If Amado Domenec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amado Domenec was the one to do the kick off. El Salvador's Luis Rubio managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Luis Honrio in the 58 minute of the game. Ricardo Zorita didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Tiburones's Amado Domenec shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Tiburones's Amado Domenec. But to his dismay, Amado Domenec quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 79th minute, Amado Domenec left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tiburones fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Domenec in the 89th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Tiburones's Amado Domenec sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Zorita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Tiburones's Victorino Olayo got control of the ball when Moises Fernandino tried to sneak it across the goal line.
