The supporters of Venezuela booed when SS SuperSonics was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Korneliusz Panasewicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hugon Lenertej saved SS SuperSonics from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Hugon Lenertej in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the match was over Venezuela could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SS SuperSonics throughout the match.
