The Borussia Dortmund fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Borussia Dortmund's Frasquito Quijana looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some careless play in the Jamaica defense, Fernandez Quintairos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Demonde Jacobson. The Jamaica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Demonde Jacobson should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Jamaica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romon Oliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Demonde Jacobson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernandez Quintairos in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarell Hill in the 34th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Bermudo Mestre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Fernandez Quintairos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Demonde Jacobson. Fernandez Quintairos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. In the 45th minute Fernandez Quintairos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demonde Jacobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Jamaica's Romon Oliver got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Finlay Stair was the one to do the kick off. Demonde Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Zaballos in the 52nd minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Reimundo Olarria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Demonde Jacobson. Jamaica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reimundo Olarria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Frasquito Quijana sped through Jamaica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Demonde Jacobson. If Fernandez Quintairos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 70 minutes into the match, Jamaica's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandez Quintairos came free, but Demonde Jacobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Demonde Jacobson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frasquito Quijana went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. If Frasquito Quijana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the match, Jamaica's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandez Quintairos came free, but Demonde Jacobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Demonde Jacobson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reimundo Olarria in the 80th minute of the match. Demonde Jacobson came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Borussia Dortmund's Reimundo Olarria. But to his dismay, Reimundo Olarria quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. When Jarell Hill fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jamaica's protests and gave Jarell Hill a yellow card for diving instead. Jarell Hill hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 87 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund's Fernandez Quintairos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Demonde Jacobson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. In the 95thth minute of the game Fernandez Quintairos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Borussia Dortmund had played much better football throughout.
