Méndez Marfa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play. Lealtad Futbol Club's attentive Edson Álvarez managed to snatch the ball when Luis Andino made a throw-in in the 18th minute of the game. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Méndez Marfa having to interfere. Méndez Marfa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 22nd minute of the match. After 24 minutes Lealtad Futbol Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play forced Lealtad Futbol Club's goalkeeper Méndez Marfa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 played minutes Lealtad Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Edson Álvarez. Méndez Marfa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of the match. After 40 played minutes Lealtad Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Roman Olaverrieta. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Gilberto Jakobe:s penalty. If Liu Chuan Cheng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liu Chuan Cheng struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lealtad Futbol Club. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilberto Jakobe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liu Chuan Cheng in the 52nd minute of play. Lealtad Futbol Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bartosz Snaza in the 54th minute. When Toro Martínez came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Lealtad Futbol Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toro Martínez couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Toro Martínez in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Lealtad Futbol Club's Weather Diz got a free kick in the 69th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Méndez Marfa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Méndez Marfa 73 minutes into the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toro Martínez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toro Martínez in the 87th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Méndez Marfa in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st minute Liu Chuan Cheng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Méndez Marfa managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
