After 14 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Sarmiento. In the 16th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Primitivo Fernanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Orlando Lluques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Primitivo Fernanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bartolo Nunos short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Marcos Cotilla to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximo Bordat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bartolo Nuno got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 28th play minute Bartolo Nuno came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Marcos Cotilla. 1-0. After 34 minutes, Pepito Santalla made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Panama's Marcos Cotilla tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Adolfo Cresenciano got a free kick in the 37th minute. After having played for 38 minutes, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Alguacil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Bartolo Nuno dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla, 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pepito Santalla in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bartolo Nuno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Bartolo Nuno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Bertran in the 56th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pepito Santalla took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolo Nuno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Bartolo Nuno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Bartolo Nuno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute Bartolo Nuno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute Bartolo Nuno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ladislao Bertran in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Cotilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bartolo Nuno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. Boca Juniors were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Panama for a fine match.
