Ruud Rodenberg did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Nicolas Selatse 3 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute Harmen Stuijt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Selatse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jhon de Korts short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Nicolas Selatse to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Go Ahead Eagles's Peter Zwiers got a free kick in the 10th minute. Go Ahead Eagles's Douwe Velez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Mitxaut in the 11th minute of play. Douwe Velez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Urre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Douwe Velez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Urre in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Gerardo Mitxaut made a precise shot to the right of Douwe Velez. Go Ahead Eagles's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Douwe Velez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Urre in the 30th minute of play. Ruud Rodenberg's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Nicolas Selatse skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Jhon de Kort had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruud Rodenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Selatse having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cleto Franco during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Facu club's Cleto Franco got a free kick in the 46th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodrigo Urre made a kick off. A collision led to Facu club getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Cleto Franco hit a great ball. Douwe Velez made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Gerardo Mitxaut sent off a good shot on target. Nicolas Selatse came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Go Ahead Eagles's Jhon de Kort. But to his dismay, Jhon de Kort quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If Ruud Rodenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Jhon de Kort had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolas Selatse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jhon de Kort's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Gerardo Mitxaut managed to get in a good position for a shot. Facu club's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerardo Mitxaut was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douwe Velez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Tiso hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. If Jhon de Kort had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Rodrigo Urre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douwe Velez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerardo Mitxaut who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Douwe Velez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Facu club's zone, Ruud Rodenberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolas Selatse came out of the goal and Ruud Rodenberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Facu club players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Go Ahead Eagles.
