The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Royal Knights FC's goalkeeper Cristo Cordara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 5 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Joinvilense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristo Cordara. Royal Knights FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldo Joinvilense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristo Cordara saved Royal Knights FC from getting behind. Delfim Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manu Smets, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delfim Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manu Smets in the 11th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Catarinense got free with Cristo Cordara in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristo Cordara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Royal Knights FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Joinvilense came free, but Cristo Cordara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristo Cordara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, 蔡辉海 threw the ball into play from the sideline. Galo do Japi's Corryn Veloz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 31 minutes into the match, Royal Knights FC's goalkeeper Cristo Cordara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Catarinense. 32 minutes into the game, Ronaldo Joinvilense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cristo Cordara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristóvão Valle struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Delfim Chaves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Royal Knights FC. Delfim Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 39th minute Marcel Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Zé Paulo Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galo do Japi's protests and gave Zé Paulo Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. Zé Paulo Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Lima to make the kick off. Cícero Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Royal Knights FC's Carlos Lima broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Joinvilense got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronaldo Joinvilense struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Cristo Cordara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galo do Japi. Marcel Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristo Cordara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The throw-in from Cristian Salandri in the 76th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Galo do Japi's Corryn Veloz. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Ronaldo Joinvilense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galo do Japi's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Joinvilense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristo Cordara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Paulo Rossi got his second yellow card in the match during the 79th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 80 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Zé Paulo Rossi. After 81 played minutes Royal Knights FC got a freekick which was hit by Arne Röspel. The supporters of Royal Knights FC booed when Galo do Japi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandinho Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Delfim Chaves made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Cristóvão Valle sent off a good shot on target. Cristo Cordara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Joinvilense, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Galo do Japi's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
