In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 14 minutes into the game, Enrique Cassaretto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla. Enrique Cassaretto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. 23 minutes into the game, CD Municipal's Enrique Cassaretto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 32 minutes into the match, Enrique Cassaretto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla, 3-0. 36 minutes into the game, Enrique Cassaretto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla. Enrique Cassaretto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. The supporters of CD Municipal booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Sarmiento didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 47th minute.
