The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Janusze Futbolu:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AFK Petržalka:s goal. After the first half Janusze Futbolu were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Norbert Jaktorowo got free with Štefan Semeno in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute, Tomáš Požgaj left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AFK Petržalka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Janusze Futbolu's Peter-Michael Schmeichel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomáš Požgaj in the 64th minute of play. Peter-Michael Schmeichel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomáš Požgaj, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter-Michael Schmeichel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomáš Požgaj's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute.
