The crowd rose to their feet as Daniele Massaro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 2-0 in the 22 minute of play. Eugenio Colecchia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Seggiano's Daniele Massaro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Godo Møltoft had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugenio Colecchia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute of the match. Daniele Massaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 57th minute Daniele Massaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Seggiano's Daniele Massaro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 84th minute. Alfred Klawki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Alfred Klawki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Klawki in the 91st minute of play. Elia Cellucci hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Eugenio Colecchia in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cosimo Franceschini hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Seggiano could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
