In the 11th minute, Zé Augusto do Nascimento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Zé Augusto do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Zé Augusto do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Augusto do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Dominik Zagrodny kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Jaime Cazalla struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Arnold Meijers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. Zé Augusto do Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play.
