Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jaime Pardo started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, IFK Göteborg's Jens-Ove Lindkvist got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the match, IFK Göteborg's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Covarrubias came free, but Jörgen Stenman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Paraguay defense, Joachim Hägg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacobo Nores. The Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacobo Nores should have stopped the shot. If Joachim Hägg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute Hector Covarrubias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jörgen Stenman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 minutes Paraguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Manfred Valström who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on IFK Göteborg's corner Manfred Valström fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jacobo Nores quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to IFK Göteborg getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Javier Oskarbi hit a great ball. In the 37th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jörgen Stenman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jens-Ove Lindkvist, made in the 46th minute of the game. Jörgen Stenman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joachim Hägg was the one to do the kick off. Hector Covarrubias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jörgen Stenman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Hector Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Covarrubias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jörgen Stenman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jaime Pardo hit a great ball. In the 61st minute, Javier Oskarbi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jörgen Stenman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 62nd minute of the match. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Hägg in the 65th minute of the match. Jörgen Stenman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Pardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 2-0 became the score in the 68th minute when Joachim Hägg elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Hägg in the 74th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. IFK Göteborg's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Manfred Valström in the 75th minute. After 82 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Pardo. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ove Lövkvist in the 84th minute of play. In the 94th match minute, IFK Göteborg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitaliy Krylatov to maneuver through the defense.
