The audience thought a goal was coming when Toninho Lara got free with Marco Day in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Benett in the 27th minute of play. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vincent Benett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, one of USA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for USA. USA:s Marco Day showed great skill when he stopped Xiao Yan Jian:s penalty. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Lara in the 41st minute of play. Jan Lindström came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by USA's Jacob May. But to his dismay, Jacob May quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cassius Byrne was the one to do the kick off. Surahammar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Monty Rogers ran over to the corner to take the kick. USA's Monty Rogers was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jan Lindström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincent Benett in the 76th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Lindström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 83rd minute of play. Edward Mcdonald recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. 91 minutes into the game, Virgil Van Dijk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Surahammar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave USA the free kick. After a rather tough play, Surahammar's Virgil Van Dijk got a free kick in the 91st minute. After 92 played minutes, USA's Jenson Smith shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jan Lindström came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in USA reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Campbell got free with Jan Lindström in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of USA booed when Surahammar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Brovall didn't get a good kick on the ball.
