When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Alfonso Baldassarre to make any attempt to save it. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 董林阳, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90thth minute of the game Narciso Rosalio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
