With a couple of smart ball manuevers Célio Fontes in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. 12 minutes in the game Thomás Borges did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Nae Buteanu. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Sergipano having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Célio Fontes sent off a good shot on target. In the 19thth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Juvenal Sergipano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Zanussi in the 20th minute of play. After 22 played minutes, Honduras's Emanuel Ocampo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juvenal Sergipano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Honduras reached it. Honduras's Moises Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Edmundo Espiga sped through CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Juvenal Sergipano. Juvenal Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 34th minute of play. After 35 minutes CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edmundo Espiga who took care of the corner kick. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Honduras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Célio Fontes ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Célio Fontes to fire away a dangerous shot which Lautaro Navarro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Geovânio Galvão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. Geovânio Galvão hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Célio Fontes sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. A collision led to CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Clemente Zanussi hit a great ball. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Zanussi in the 58th minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Moises Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 67thth minute of the game Lobo Zornoza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Amado Froila hit a great ball. After 76 played minutes CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Amado Froila. In the 77th minute, Moises Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juvenal Sergipano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Froila in the 80th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Tande in the 81st minute of the match. Edmundo Espiga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Juvenal Sergipano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A sloppy throw-in by Nae Buteanu in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Esteban Carvallo. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiko Tande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE were awarded a corner. Amado Froila went to the cornerflag to take it. Milagros Cabal thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Lautaro Navarro, a very annoying self made goal in the 92nd minute which led to 2-2. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
