BK Gubbhöft's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ove Salkvist in the 17th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were furious when Antonio Arias was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 18 minutes into the game, one of Ecuador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 24 minutes into the game, BK Gubbhöft's Ove Salkvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 29 minutes into the game, Fidel Veronica recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Fidel Veronica showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ove Salkvist went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 43rd minute Ove Salkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ove Salkvist in the 44th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fidel Veronica stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. BK Gubbhöft's supporters rose to their feet, but Ove Salkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ove Salkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. BK Gubbhöft were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ciro Incendio took the corner. The corner ended in Ciro Incendio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. The BK Gubbhöft players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
