With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Davi Dal Bello tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 24th minute Miguel Miralles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Davi Dal Bello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Davi Dal Bello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Dal 3ello getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Gabriel Abreu hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davi Dal Bello in the 66th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Isidoro Sarmiento notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Dal 3ello's Igor Taffarel. Igor Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 70 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Davi Dal Bello came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 minutes of play, Dal 3ello's Davi Dal Bello made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. A very good chance. In the 97th minute Davi Dal Bello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
