Orlando Casaus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagoberto Loureiro having to interfere. Cöpacabana FC's Dagoberto Loureiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 16th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vito Leite's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Thiago Pliego skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vito Leite in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. 38 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vito Leite. Vito Leite could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. In the 40thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cöpacabana FC's Dagoberto Loureiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dagoberto Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Chile were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cöpacabana FC made a substitution. Dobromir Brudnicki replaced Stig-Åke Benet. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vito Leite stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harald Boman, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Harald Boman put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Thiago Pliego. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chile players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cöpacabana FC.
