Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aldas Alvinskas ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 55th minute, Jonas Mikuckis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonas Mikuckis in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vytaras Želvys in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Konstantinas Malevičius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giedrius Domeika in the 74th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Giedrius Domeika came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. When the match had been going on for 94 minutes Daniel Zorita shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Konstantinas Malevičius when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
