Felix Garrido made in the 22nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Guillermo Fontirroig immediately put the ball in play. Gedeon Káposztás made a great header on Grêmio Papão de WC's corner, it was just that Chile's Thiago Pliego managed to reach the ball for a save. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gedeon Káposztás was the one to do the kick off. Geovanildo Zago charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovanildo Zago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
