Fabiano Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of the match. Fabiano Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Deivid Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabiano Saldanha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Luís de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adilson de Alcântara in the 18th minute. Julio Vera acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 21st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Deivid Teles. In the 30th minute, Adilson de Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Esperança FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Fabiano Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabiano Saldanha saved Esperança FC from getting behind. Fabiano Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 36th minute of play. Esperança FC's Elia Giusto shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 39th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Julio Vera but with some difficulty. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís de Moraes in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Esperança FC's Luís de Moraes in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabiano Saldanha. Fabiano Saldanha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Luís de Moraes came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fabiano Saldanha, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Fabiano Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fabiano Saldanha. Fabiano Saldanha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. A collision led to Esperança FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Luís de Moraes hit a great ball. Bastian Røyrvik charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bastian Røyrvik the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Esperança FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Bastian Røyrvik hit a great ball. Luis Andino spun around in front of the goal 86 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Esperança FC's goal. 88 minutes into the match, Esperança FC's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Fabiano Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute Luís de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The Esperança FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
