Luca Espinar kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Mercedes's Anier Mon got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 7th minute of play forced Mercedes's goalkeeper Augusto Ellande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mercedes's Augusto Ellande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Morais came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mercedes's Albino Feliu got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, Alvaro Abar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alvaro Abar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Mercedes's Manuel Morais got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lautaro Navarro made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Alvaro Abar sent off a good shot on target. Mercedes were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Honduras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Anier Mon took the corner. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Alvaro Abar took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Lautaro Navarro to make any attempt to save it. If Anier Mon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 minutes of play, Mercedes's Alvaro Abar made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fabian Ascencio made in the 42nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Anier Mon however managed to control. Luca Espinar hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Alvaro Abar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santo Rumaldo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alvaro Abar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manuel Morais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Mercedes's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Augusto Ellande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albino Feliu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mercedes made a substitution. In the 70th minute, Manuel Morais ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 73 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Ivar Nordmo came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Luca Espinar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the game, Jan-Ivar Nordmo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Lautaro Navarro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Manuel Morais managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mercedes's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Morais was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Jan-Ivar Nordmo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. 8-0 became the score in the 89th minute when Manuel Morais elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Honduras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mercedes.
