Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Jo-Wilfried Schouten sent off a good shot on target. In the 16th minute, Prime Hock left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dragons AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Justino Santos hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Dragons AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Lorenzo Beckman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Jo-Wilfried Schouten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Moruga during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute Prime Hock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prime Hock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the game, Jo-Wilfried Schouten lined in a short shot 4-0 behind a frustrated Benito Sanz. In the 37th minute, Jo-Wilfried Schouten reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 5-0. 42 minutes into the game, Jo-Wilfried Schouten recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Jo-Wilfried Schouten showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-0 at half-time.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Costa Rica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Dragons AFC:s goal. The referee gave Dragons AFC a penalty, 59 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jo-Wilfried Schouten, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. 8-0. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Prime Hock left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dragons AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. 64 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dragons AFC the free kick. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jo-Wilfried Schouten, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Dragons AFC's Jo-Wilfried Schouten. But to his dismay, Jo-Wilfried Schouten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 11-0. Dragons AFC made a substitution. Valentin Elorri replaced Nicasio Gomesano. In the 81st minute Justino Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Prime Hock ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-0. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Jo-Wilfried Schouten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dragons AFC fully deserved thier win.
