Sandro Paranaense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Diniz in the 41st minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute, Eduardo Fontirroig made a precise shot to the right of Sandro Paranaense. POPULAR F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 54th minute, Mario Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the POPULAR F.C defense, Mario Fernandino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sandro Paranaense. The POPULAR F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sandro Paranaense should have stopped the shot. POPULAR F.C's Sérgio Chulapa was substituted for Gildo Oliveira. The supporters of Bolivia booed when POPULAR F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The POPULAR F.C fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when POPULAR F.C's Emanuel Diniz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 78thth minute of the game Emanuel Diniz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bolivia's Camilo Freixa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Igor Moura charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Igor Moura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes POPULAR F.C got a freekick which was hit by Igor Moura. Julio Chicote sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Paranaense having to interfere. Mario Fernandino struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Sandro Paranaense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bolivia. 93 minutes into the game, Joshua Miralles threw the ball into play from the sideline. POPULAR F.C's Oscar Custódio quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.
