The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. Dorel Bolborici made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 52nd minute. In the 66th minute of the match, Axel Montenegro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dorel Bolborici was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bogdan Domeradzki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Orlando Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute Abram Secada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorel Bolborici saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Santino Seco took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Dorel Bolborici to make any attempt to save it. Colombia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
