A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Camilo Franco hit a great ball. Benjamin Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Lara in the 25th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Jerry Uchiha made a precise shot to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. The Joinville Esporte Clube players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
