When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Macabeo Sampil made a kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artur Boruc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 91st match minute, Rayo Bengala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Çağan Ros to maneuver through the defense. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Boruc having to interfere. In the 94th minute Palacios Bobes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
