After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mădălin Cangeopol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play forced Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goalkeeper Laurențiu Gaciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute of the match, Mădălin Cangeopol tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Mădălin Cangeopol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Laurențiu Gaciu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 52nd minute. Laurențiu Gaciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Laurențiu Gaciu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wesley Sneijder blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Heintje Gamarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
