With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Mădălin Cangeopol tried to sneak it across the goal line. Laurențiu Gaciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mădălin Cangeopol in the 44th minute. In the 44th minute, Joel Gaona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s Laurențiu Gaciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Laurențiu Gaciu in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laurențiu Gaciu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Laurențiu Gaciu. Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Gaona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 74th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laurențiu Gaciu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Laurențiu Gaciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Heintje Gamarra went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval got a free kick in the 84th minute. The nice shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 86thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Laurențiu Gaciu had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurențiu Gaciu having to interfere.
