After taking down the ball on Panama's corner Jose Carita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ball Packert quite easily take care of the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephan Vanneste, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The supporters of Ulan Bator Football Club booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ulan Bator Football Club's Jan-Pieter Van Cauwenbergh got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 38th minute, Mattheo Smeulders left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ulan Bator Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kieth Hacke in the 40th minute of play. Stephan Vanneste took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcos Cotilla. Panama's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ball Packert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Miralles in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jérémy Doku made the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jérémy Doku, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattheo Smeulders in the 55th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Jérémy Doku came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Ulan Bator Football Club made a substitution. Jarno Depelsmaker replaced Willy Smidts. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ball Packert having to interfere. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toon Teunens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a free kick in the 91st minute. 92 minutes into the match, Toon Teunens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toon Teunens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1.
