Carlos Baptista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ersen Bumba. In the 39thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ЧΙ ƝƖ̇ƘƠMЄƊƖ̇ƛ ƑƘ's Carlos Baptista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. 50 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ersen Bumba in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After 67 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Erman Kayıhan who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Carlos Baptista in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, ЧΙ ƝƖ̇ƘƠMЄƊƖ̇ƛ ƑƘ's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Carlos Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ЧΙ ƝƖ̇ƘƠMЄƊƖ̇ƛ ƑƘ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
