One of Sundborn IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Mexico. Joel Gaona stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kalle Askberg. 0-1. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kalle Askberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kalle Askberg came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Henning Bennet sent off a good shot on target. 30 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Alf Hansson came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kalle Askberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 31st minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alf Hansson in the 33rd minute of the match. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Håning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kalle Askberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Sundborn IF's Kalle Askberg managed to reach the ball for a save. 45 minutes into the match, Sundborn IF's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Kalle Askberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 47th minute of play forced Sundborn IF's goalkeeper Kalle Askberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Sundborn IF's Kaloyan Mitashev was substituted for Henning Bennet. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ted Holmgren made a kick off. Sundborn IF's Kalle Askberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 54th minute of play. Karl-Magnus Hansson kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Sundborn IF's Aqşin Aläkbärov was substituted for Jan Håning. After 64 minutes Sundborn IF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Mexico's Luca Rouco getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Holmgren in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kalle Askberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sven-Olof Stephansson was slow to take the kick. During this time Sundborn IF's players had a chance to rest. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
