Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nestor Paraibano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. After 15 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Alfredo Martins took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Cano in the 21st minute of play. In the 29th minute, Nestor Paraibano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 33 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Moussa Kabre who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Marquês de Herval's German Cano getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After 37 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Alfredo Martins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. In the 42nd minute of the match Marquês de Herval got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Moussa Kabre ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Moussa Kabre almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. German Cano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. German Cano's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. German Cano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Cano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gao Xiang Guang kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute of the match Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dida Taffarel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Martins to strike the kick off in the second half. Nestor Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Nestor Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Marquês de Herval's German Cano got a free kick in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Marquês de Herval had played much better football throughout.
