Zygmunt Dziechciowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Song Sheng Feng in the 28th minute of play. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filip Kosowski in the 89th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Song Sheng Feng in the 93rd minute of play.
