Sebastian Titz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Önder Cebi in the 15th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Titz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 17th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Montenegro in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastian Titz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Önder Cebi came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Sydney FC booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Tafalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Angelo Milanese sent off a good shot on target. Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 45th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Ogășanu to make the kick off. Colombia were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Sydney FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Montenegro took the corner. Colombia's Joshua Garrido was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sebastian Titz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Guy Rothe came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Sydney FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guy Rothe couldn't finish the play. The Sydney FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Colombia's performance. The match ended with a win for Colombia.
