The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Anthony Alvarado put in a rough tackle. In the 47th minute, one of Peru:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Peru. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonso da Cunha was the one to do the kick off. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Ludomil Ziomkowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Gustavo da Silva was substituted for Virgiawan Laturua. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Breno Torres was substituted for Well-Well Junior. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Breno Torres. But to his dismay, Breno Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 92nd minute, Breno Torres made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Torres in the 97th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
