Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. 8 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Witomir Dlugi. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Witomir Dlugi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 2-0. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute, Tolek Skikiewicz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 4-0 became the score in the 34th minute when Herbert Raflewski elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Witomir Dlugi succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-0 in the 36th playminute. Witomir Dlugi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Witomir Dlugi tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Witomir Dlugi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Witomir Dlugi in the 55th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MKS Polonia Słubice's Slawomir Osikowicz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hugo Ferrant, made in the 57th minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Herbert Raflewski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Herbert Raflewski sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. If Witomir Dlugi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Michal Kaczynski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When MKS Polonia Słubice's Arkadiusz Sala in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience was convinced that Michal Kaczynski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. 76 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Radowit Zielinski came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, MKS Polonia Słubice's Michal Kaczynski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. If Radowit Zielinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arkadiusz Sala hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by MKS Polonia Słubice's Radowit Zielinski. But to his dismay, Radowit Zielinski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0.
