Mike Axisa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Carballar in the 3rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 5th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Mike Axisa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 9th minute of play. Thiago Pliego was a little too slow when Kim Bolas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-0. The Sliema Dragons FC fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Sliema Dragons FC's Kim Bolas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 23 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mike Axisa. Sliema Dragons FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The throw-in from Felix Garrido in the 25th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sliema Dragons FC's Pepe Ferreira. In the 35th minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Mike Axisa. Sliema Dragons FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 37th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Mike Axisa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mike Axisa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 3-3 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Sliema Dragons FC from getting a goal against them. 62 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Bolas came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's Kim Bolas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Mariano Lacasa came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Lacasa couldn't finish the play. Mike Axisa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dejan Cassar's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Dejan Cassar sped through Chile's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. With a little luck, Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mike Axisa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mariano Lacasa went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-4 was the resulting score. Mariano Lacasa did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 4-5 to the left of a surprised Mike Axisa 87 minutes into the match. Chile played a much better game than Sliema Dragons FC and deserved their victory. The Sliema Dragons FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
