It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Peru's Joaquin Prats to fire away a dangerous shot which Marco Pedriza despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Roldán Vega was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 13 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of RACIN DE CHAWEN:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Peru:s goal. Milagros Fraga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alonso Berganza hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Pedriza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. If Rufo Serra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th minute, Luz Tejedor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Pedriza was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milagros Fraga in the 44th minute of play forced RACIN DE CHAWEN's goalkeeper Marco Pedriza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 minutes RACIN DE CHAWEN's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After 71 played minutes RACIN DE CHAWEN got a freekick which was hit by Donzel Sobera. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marco Pedriza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. RACIN DE CHAWEN's Marco Pedriza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 83rd minute of play. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
