Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Iulian Pietreanu got the match started through his kick off. Petrică Cândreanu kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. In the 9th minute, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Orçun Yalınalp ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 12th minute, Luca Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Orçun Yalınalp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigel Horhoianu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Petrică Cândreanu was slow to take the kick. During this time FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's players had a chance to rest. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iulian Pietreanu in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Luca Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Baldomiro Txindoki quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iulian Pietreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. 30 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Baldomiro Txindoki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Luque came free, but Baldomiro Txindoki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Baldomiro Txindoki in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 65th minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Baldomiro Txindoki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baldomiro Txindoki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Facundo Cadaval sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orçun Yalınalp in the 89th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomiro Txindoki having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baldomiro Txindoki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
