Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Petrică Cândreanu's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Petrică Cândreanu helped the player get up and apologised. Petrică Cândreanu hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FC UNIREA Alba Iulia had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
