Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Gangwon FC's Olivier Duthu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bart Verbruggen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 2nd minute of play. In the 3rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Bart Verbruggen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Alcocer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Huey Cheeseman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. After 11 minutes, Olivier Duthu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gangwon FC and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Olivier Duthu hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Gangwon FC defense, Eliseo Noboa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bart Verbruggen. The Gangwon FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bart Verbruggen should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Gangwon FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Olivier Duthu hit a great ball. In the 25th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bart Verbruggen came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig. But to his dismay, Lautaro Puig quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 강 강 in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee felt a red card was in order, 37 minutes into the game, when 이 성 put in a rough tackle. After 38 played minutes Gangwon FC got a freekick which was hit by 이 성.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, 강 강 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and 강 강 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. In the 55th minute of the match 김 갈 sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig pulled a muscle in his back after 57 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Olivier Duthu got his second yellow card in the match during the 57th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Olivier Duthu hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Alfredo Zoido could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Bart Verbruggen made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, 강 강 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and 강 강 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Suad Ratkić in the 68th minute of play. Alfredo Zoido succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 70th playminute. If 강 강 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Gangwon FC's goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Zoido. When Well-Well Good fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gangwon FC's protests and gave Well-Well Good a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gangwon FC's Well-Well Good got a free kick in the 81st minute. After 81 played minutes, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Costa Rica reached it. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Suad Ratkić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. The supporters of Gangwon FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Huey Cheeseman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bart Verbruggen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Zoido in the 89th minute.
