When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Eliseo Mano sped through Panama's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. After a rather tough play, Fajteri's Milisav Kovše got a free kick in the 44th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Fajteri's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Sarmiento came free, but Kostja Vertot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Ersan Šokčević kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kostja Vertot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Abraham Alguacil kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kostja Vertot. That made the score 3-1 in the 54 minute of play.
