The supporters of Foda booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Covarrubias didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amir Sellimi couldn't finish the play. After having played for 33 minutes, Mehdi Chimane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Foda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mehdi Chimane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Mehdi Chimane notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Paraguay's Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 38 minutes into the match, CJ Craddock dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jacobo Nores, 3-0. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Anselmo Schiavoni, made in the 41st minute of the game. Oussama Omrani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Pardo made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Robin Lindahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anselmo Schiavoni made in the 53rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. Hector Covarrubias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Foda's Oussama Omrani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 64th minute of play. Foda's CJ Craddock got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from CJ Craddock, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. A collision led to Foda getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Robin Lindahl hit a great ball. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Oussama Omrani made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehdi Chimane in the 84th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Primitivo Escribano came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Primitivo Escribano couldn't finish the play. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehdi Chimane, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Foda's zone, Jaime Pardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oussama Omrani came out of the goal and Jaime Pardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Paraguay players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Foda.
