After a defensive mix-up in La Gallardeta's zone, Aykut Nadi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oliver Can came out of the goal and Aykut Nadi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. KOCAELİSPOR's Şemsettin Tuyuğ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Haimar in the 5th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ömer Demirci's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliver Can was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After 13 minutes La Gallardeta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zachary Bienienda who took care of the corner kick. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Haimar in the 16th minute of play. Oliver Can made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Ömer Demirci sent off a good shot on target. 19 minutes in the game, Ömer Demirci dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 22nd minute Rafael Haimar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şemsettin Tuyuğ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. La Gallardeta's Oliver Can played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ömer Demirci in the 24th minute of play. Oliver Can made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ömer Demirci in the 26th minute of play. Oliver Can didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ömer Demirci went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Ömer Demirci could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Oliver Can made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Ömer Demirci's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliver Can was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Chayo in the 41st minute of play. Şemsettin Tuyuğ took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kjell Alsvik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amado Chayo scored 1-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Şemsettin Tuyuğ, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. La Gallardeta's Esteban Leizarraga was substituted for Dalmacio Gartzea.

If Aşır Zabit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 71st minute, Aşır Zabit made a precise shot to the right of Oliver Can. La Gallardeta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Maximino Claris's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oliver Can read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. La Gallardeta's Nikolay Podshivalov was substituted for Kjell Alsvik. KOCAELİSPOR were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after La Gallardeta's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roland Rakowicz took the corner. Aykut Nadi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 81st minute Aşır Zabit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Can saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. KOCAELİSPOR's Maximino Claris got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, KOCAELİSPOR's Claudio Delgadillo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Claudio Delgadillo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of KOCAELİSPOR protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Claudio Delgadillo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 87th minute of the game. One of KOCAELİSPOR:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of La Gallardeta:s goal. Şemsettin Tuyuğ had in the 89thth minute some difficulties stopping Konstanty Figlewski's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. There was no doubt that KOCAELİSPOR were the better team. KOCAELİSPOR's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
